Did he used to work at the AA many years ago?
Yes he did.In the post room.
Oh Christ - yes I remember him. I worked at the AA until 1994 and knew him quite well back then. Working at the AA, I was a regular at the Junction, in the days of John and Carol Holt. Always was a great lad - how sad - RIP blue.
I was born In Cheadle Hulme and started drinking in The Junction and going with all the lads there on away games in Paul Gunnings van or on the train. Barry often came with us and the mad things he did were to many to mention! Always smiling and great fun, he’ll be missed for sure. RIP Barry, a blue legend!
Barrys Funeral is confirmed at 9am on Monday at Stockport Crem.
As a couple of his mates are away we are going to arrange to spread his ashes at the ground at a later date and also a get together to raise a glass (or 10) in his memory at a City home game.
Thanks for all the messages on here, he would have appreciated fellow Blues saluting him.
He was my best man at my wedding I meet Barry when we worked at the Manchester evening news back in the 1970s he also got me into northern soul anyone know when the funeral is R.I.P. Barry
When Barry was working in Cheadle, we used to talk most weekdays - mostly about the love of his life - City. Absolute legend - one hell of a nice guy. He will be missed. RIP Barry.
Seemed like a proper decent guy reading through this thread. Took to early from that twat of a disease.
