Can't believe there's not a thread about the Dutch first division top scorer yet.

Might be going to West Ham

Very capable finisher in the area, with good wingers he will score like a train!

Two words........ Gorgeuos Georgios.

The Dutch league, unfortunately, is like the EDS league in the main. Hell, even Guidetti seems to be ripping it up, and he couldnt get near to our first team.

Also seem Afonso Alves (already mentioned) and Bryan Ruiz. About the best that Dujtch league strikers can hope for now is to be a relatively high scorer in a secondary league (as per Huntelaar).

Wingers? What are they?

Can somebody tell me in which season Samaras was the Dutch League's top scorer? Thankyou

Samaras was an AVERAGE goal scorer even in Holland. 25 goals in 88 games is not impressive!

Again people are painting the Eredivisie with one brush because of a few average players, when it has housed some of the (eventually) top players in last 20 or so years. Van Basten, Van Nistlerooy, Van Persie, Ibrahimovic, Bergkamp, Sneijder, Robben, Davids, Seedorf, Romario, Ronaldo. And now it has some impressive young players again like Luuk De Jong, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Guidetti, and Mertens. Not forgetting Suarez and Van Wolfswinkel who left recently and are doing well at prolific clubs.

The difference being in the 80's and 90's the dutch league was as strong as others and it only the last 15 years where the money has just left it lagging behind. You will alwayd get good players from any league but we know well that high scorers in dutch leagues genrally doesnt translate to scoring anywhere else
Look how long it took Huntelaar to adapt to life out of the dutch league

But players can only be judged on a case-by-case basis, it bugs me when people label EVERY striker who looks good in the Dutch league as the next Kezman if/when they choose to leave it. van Wolfswinkel scored 23 goals last season for Utrecht and went to the superior Portuguese league and this season he's scored 24 goals including a good record in Europe (he scored against us)... and now lots of top clubs are sniffing, including the rags.

Also I think Huntelaar was extremely unlucky, he only started 13 games at Real and was a late sub in his other handful of appearances and scored 8 goals. 11 starts for Milan (lots of sub appearances), 7 goals. Then he finally got a chance to be a regular starter at Schalke and he's one of the best goal scorers in Europe now.

Yeah, we should try to get that guy. :)

Anyway I must admit I haven't seen Das Boot play, and I'm not gonna make my opinion up based on youtube...Samaras comes to mind once again. I really don't know enough about the dutch league...Rasmus Elm is supposed to have had a blinding season and is in fantastic form ahead of the Euro...so I'm told, I really have no idea.

Yes but there is a reason why at Real Madrid and Milan he didnt play often because they didnt think he was good enough. If they thought he was he would of played.
I agree on a case by case but i think since the Siuthgate Afonso Alves thing they scout them better now than just go off goals scored

Signed for Wolfsburg today, think he may be a big hit there and they may have a proper Dzeko replacement at last as neither Mandzukic or Helmes have been the goal machine Edin was.
