What's the difference between a cod and City over the past few weeks?
One is usually battered... and the other one is a fish.

Supper is a word I despise and anyone who uses it should be punched in the face

Supper came after tea in our house, it usually meant a biscuit or a cake of some sort though.

....and always with pickled egg and mushie peas (not in a ramekin)

I prefer my Cod in a chorizo and parmesan crust. Served on a bed of Spanish beans with sauteed leeks and a smear of pea puree on the side. Washed down with a crisp Chablis.

Other than that, Battered. Every time.

its nicer when the fish is Halibut or even a nice Turbot steak when you can get it.
