Bayern midfielders

What a ridiculously overstocked midfield.
Surprised no-ones mentioned Gustavo. He's behind Schweinsteiger, Martinez and sometimes even Kroos in the pecking order for DM, but is only 26, pretty pacy, a good passer and throws himself in like Nige did, but he's much better on the ball. He's also got 4 goals this season. I think we could get him pretty cheaply considering how competitive their midfield is, and Guardiola's might even try and Busquets in. Worth a try.

before Götze? Really?? Müller is a grafter, we have one of them in Jimmy Millner. That's all Müller is; Jimmy Millner playin in a shit hot team. Mario Götze is the German Messi. An absolute outstanding footballer.

LOL. Milner will never be in the same universe as Muller. Muller should be on the Ballon d'Or shortlist and was arguably the best player in Europe last season. Just because he doesn't do flashy stuff and speed past players doesn't mean he's a grafter. Grafters don't get 25 goals and 17 assists in a season! Right now, Muller is a better footballer than Gotze, though Gotze looks like he could surpass him in time.

Are you saying that you would take Milner ahead of Muller?

Well...like I said, Müller is a grafter playing in a shit hot team. His effort is second to none. He's a player that every team needs. Mario Götze on the other hand, is an outstanding footballer.

-- Fri Jul 12, 2013 5:07 pm --

Except Milner gives you 4 goals and 3 assists and Muller gives you 13 goals and 11 assists.

Actually - that "grafter" Müller especially makes the difference in the big matches. And his quote in CL matches for goals and assists was far better than that of the most football "artists". He e.g. has a better rate per minute in assists and goals in the CL in his career than Rooney has and it is e.g. better than that of Ribery or Robben...

(Can you say that of Milner? ;) )

We talk about a 19 to 23 year old player... - a "grafter"...

The thing that sets Müller apart is his mentality and character - but probably the whole package out of living football with all its emotions, fighting spirit, the ability to get up again, intelligence, taking yourself not so serious, team spirit, awareness - and playing comical but like this very effective.

The German national team has not lost or even tied a competitive match in his playing time he is playing since the match in which Klose was red carded against Serbia at World Cup 2010. They only lost when or in the time he was not playing. It is about similar in the test matches with about one exception.

Müller last year was always there when the team really needed him. He is the one that usually does not shine or score in the easy matches against minors - but will before in the more difficult ones - especially away from home.

How far Götze gets, or Thiago Alcantara or Kroos - we will see. But for being successful you need more than just to be the best technican or the most hyped...

And Müller does not only give you a goal or an assist every 80 minutes in the league - he gives you 8 CL goals and 2 assists especially when it is important (and blocks... ;) ) and he scores and assists in the cup final.

(And if Robben knew how to pass Müller could even be a lot better...)

Can we just get Toni Kroos, seems like Pep doesn't rate him and he'll be the player to suffer the most with the arrival of Thiago.

Really good player (they all are) who can play CAM and CM. He has a rocket of a shot on him. Shaqiri would be the best though because he plays on the left and that is where our need is greatest. Not to mention that if crosses are what Dzeko wants, between Navas and Shaqiri, as well as our full backs, he would get plenty. But Bayern just don't seem interested in selling.
