City have a great record against German teams but that was a big result against a big team full of european experience. A great tactical performance where all the boys played to their potential.

They had a few dangerous attacks, but that’s what you expect in Europe against one of the best teams. I thought overall they were poor and looked a bit lost, but that’s to be expected when they sack their manager in the business end of the season despite being in all competitions still.

I am quite sold on the whole 3/4 at the back, all big, proper defenders who can play. Suprisingly good for possession. You sacrifice the left back, but they are usually too small to compete with anyone apart from their winger, so they end up outside of the game.

Today was a bit like a blast from the past. Almost like 11/12's side in physique. A load of big lads, with two fantasias. A bigger, meaner, taller bunch side than I ever thought I'd see Pep field. The difference is every one of these big lads can play, can really keep the tempo. Bossing the centre of the park in their own half, a bit like the best German national sides.

But we were the better side.

If both teams scores all of their big chances we would have won 7-3.

That’s down to us being brilliant at defending, which you have to be in games like this. Overall, they were poor apart from a few dangerous chances. We played it perfectly tonight, didn’t commit to much that often as we know their strength would be getting in behind.

The good thing is we don't need to press the issue now in Germany. That annoying thing we do sometimes against teams like Forest where we just sit in with the back four passing it back and forth and showing no urgency to progress the ball... Do that... but for 90 minutes.

We'll get our chances to counter. Waste every conceivable minute by keeping the ball for as long as humanly possible. Go backwards, go sidewards, it doesn't fucking matter. Keep. The. Ball.
