I wonder why they've suddenly come up with the idea of 20? And look, Cantona is top of the list. "Most Memorable Quote"? It's a wankfest.

Premier League 20 Seasons: Eric Cantona dominates shortlist

Eric Cantona has been nominated in five of the 11 categories for the Premier League 20 Seasons Awards, which mark two decades since the league's launch.
The former Manchester United star is a contender for the best player, best goal, most memorable quote, best celebration and best striker prizes.
Alan Shearer has four nominations, while Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry have three each.
Winners will be decided either by panel or public vote on premierleague.com.
Contenders
Best manager shortlist: Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Harry Redknapp, David Moyes. Best player shortlist: Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Thierry Henry, Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Alan Shearer, Patrick Vieira, Gianfranco Zola.

Steve Bruce, who captained Manchester United to the title in the first season of the competition in 1992-93, said: "All players would have loved to have played in the Premier League from the year dot.
"For me, it was just the last three or four years [of my career], but unquestionably the Premier League has been fantastic over the years."
Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, who won the title three times with the club, added: "I love the passion around the game, I love the atmosphere in the stadiums, and I like the players playing without so much pressure, players trying to express themselves and playing with freedom."
The public will decide the best goal, match, save and celebrations. Panel votes will judge the best team, players, quote, season and manager.
Fact-based awards are given to the players with the most appearances, goals and clean sheets respectively.
The shortlists were drawn up after votes from national newspapers. The player and manager of the 20 Seasons Awards will be announced on 15 May.

They haven't just suddenly come up with the idea of 20, there have been twenty seasons of the premier league and it seems entirely appropriate to mark that in some way.

Whether you like it or not they have been the most successful side in that time and so are bound to dominate the awards.

If it's going to wind you up so much don't click on the links to it.

On another note why would you point to a rag related story and accuse the BBC of having a Man Yoo wankfest?

Why not include a link to a positive news story about City instead?

Fergiescum can only be best manager - put your mortgage on it.
Cuntana is up for ''best quote'' - presumably the seagull one. Personally I'd go for Keegans ''Id love it, love it'' quote.
Best player? Giggs will be up for it on the fact he's played in each season (though as many as a rag will deny, they wanted shot of him years ago, saying he was ''living off the cup semi final goal in 99'') but my choice would be Zola.

Best goal - has to be Crouch's against us the other week..... Or Rooney's miss hit against us last year..... Le Tissier was scoring goals like that for fun every week!

The one thing this ''20 years'' thing unconsciously highlights though is the fact that for many united fans, football began in 1992. It never existed before that (apart from 1968 and 1958)

A Scholesy PK in training.

Has to be Henry for best player, no?

I'd have
1) Tranny
2) Bergkamp
3) Henry

Not a bad shout, but like Mad Eye, I'm guessing it will be Giggs

Giggs should get ''most times scoring away'' award too ;)

To be fair there are five City goalkeepers out of the ten nominated for team of the 20 seasons:

Shay Given, Joe Hart, David James, Peter Schmeichel & David Seaman.

didn`t you know that football was formed in 1992?

england won the world cup in 66 did they?

what a load of old shit, anybody with a sky dish and a comfy armchair knows they are the biggest and most loyal fans in the world...

Goal - Le Tissier v Blackburn

Player - Henry

Game - Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle

or Di Canio for West Ham

They had a "pick the team" for the last 20 years option as well, unfortunately you can't get away from the fact it will be dominated with rags, even my team had 6 of the feckers in it!

GK - Schmeichel
RB - G Neville
CB - Adams
CB - Stam
LB - Cole
RM - Ronaldo
CM - Gerrard
CM - Scholes
LM - Giggs
ST - Henry
ST - Shearer
