BBC African Footballer OTY

I imagine that Dortmund bloke will get it after his start to this season.

Why are the BBC doing an African Footballer of the year competition? Shouldn't this be done in Africa?

Are they doing the same for German Footballer of the year, Asian Footballer of the year, or even Europeam Footballer of the year come to that?

Just askin' like.

I think Aubemeyang is strongly in contention and I think he should probably take it. Sadio Mane and Yacine Brahimi are obviously quality, but they aren't at clubs which the same achievement level.

There is a CAF Player of the Year award as well, but BBC hands out its own award. Okocha for example never won the CAF award but was twice voted the BBC African Player of the Year. The BBC award is also a popular vote, unlike the CAF award which is selected similarly to the Balon d'Or.

Must admit, I'd not heard of this award before and didn't even realise that Yaya had won it before (2013).

1 goal in 3 last season for City and captaining his side to an ACON win, Yaya has to be a front runner.

Absurd, does the BBC do a Britsih POTY or Asian or European, the world is mad with do gooders, politically correct idiots in positions of influence
