BBC Fans poll of "Team Of The Season" so far - No City players!

no surprise, everytime city have an outstanding season the bbc goes all out to support players from teams lower in the league that dont have a high £££ value. They then throw in the odd liverpool / chelsea or rags player, surprised pogba isnt in. The season liverpool do well, price tag goes out the window and it is "oh liverpool"
No doubt best manager is Moyes.

BBC and one sided, yes they are

So true about Liverpool. Couldn't get enough of "Best team ever" garbage from the one season they didn't bottle the league.

Just to clarify, it's not fans voting for their team of the year, it's fans voting each player a score out of ten after each game so far this season, and then those being averaged out. But obviously it's stupid, because fans will only vote for their own players, and will base it on how well they perform compared to expectations, rather than how good they are as a player. So essentially, it's a team of the biggest over-performers relative to expectations this season. Or a list of players most likely to be overrated by their own fans. We have higher standards, so our players have got to do more to be given a high score.

But in that sense, it's actually a far more honest assessment of fans' opinions than just running a poll. It's interesting, for example, that the "best right back in the world" didn't make it into the team when it's based on the scores Liverpool fans actually gave game-by-game, and that's probably down to the sheer number of goals he's cost them this season.

Just imagine how many of their players would be in this list if they were 10 points clear.

Van D is a shadow of his former self, costing them goals left right and centre yet he still makes the list and gets praised by pundits. Contrast that with the media criticism Stones got when he made an error playing for England whilst on a run of form for us that probably showed him to be the best centre half in the league at the time

You do realise its based on the fans rating during the season. Unless you think the BBC have fixed it to shoehorn a couple of Brighton players in the side.
