The only chance the Welsh prick has got of keeping is job, is if he plays Elano in every game untill the end of the season. He should get him in the office first thing, explain he has him all wrong and beg him to perform like that untill the end of the season.

But he won't, he'll drop him and put the mercurial Keliven Ethu in, instead. Genius.

Hughes was asked about Elano at the recent Fans Forum and was quite open about it. HE said that Elano was unhappy he wasn't playing every game but he had spoken to him to explain that wasn't going to be the case and he now thought he accepted that. If Elano played like that every game then he'd playing in a lot more games than he has been.

It would be fair to post this after Elano has produced a string of performances like last night. Sadly (and not entirely through his own making) he patently hasn't done this yet. I emphasise yet, because I sure as hell hope to see more like the Elano of last night.

Elano was different class last nite... however to suggest he is now owed an apology is laughable. based on that he would have had to issue numerous apologies to the fans over the last year... or is this just another excuse to have a pop at hughes???

Elano MOM last night but lets not forget the can't be arsed performances that he's put in over the season (hence why he's not owed an apology), hopefully this will be the turning point and we'll see the best from him now consistantly.

You sound pretty sure he'll drop him for Etuhu so I presume you'll apologise if he doesn't. I'd love to see Elano play more if he plays like last night but other European matches he's played this year he was slated for his perormance and didn't look interested. Everyone can raise their game as they get closer to a final but if they had all played with the same level of commitment then next seasons europeaqn place would be in the bag already.

Be a man Elano, apologize to all City fans for waiting till a UEFA Cup Quarter Final to play as well as we all know you can, for the first time since 2007 Now!

He was great against West Ham in Aug 08, scored twice, then Hughes drops him after such a good game!

If you were to play Elano from the start, who would you drop assuming all players were fit?

drop richards, move zab to right back and put elano in behind the front man. dont think we need two holding midfielders at home, especilly against poorer sides

What? Hughes admit he was wrong? Elano was only playing last night because SWP wasn't fit!

To be brutal he scored two granted but was still swaning around like he couldn't be arsed I came away from that thinking how could someone have such a bad game yet score twice!!! Last night was the first glance of last seasons Elano
