Beautiful towns

Ashby De la zouch is nice.

Fucking hate that place. I got sent there on a Friday afternoon in a luton transit that could only do 47mph flat out. It meant I didn't get back in time to cash my wage cheque at the only bank that would pay out over the counter. Which meant all weekend with no fucking money. I hope they have a fucking earthquake.

Earned a nearly a months money in one week there in December 1990. We went to restore help restore the East Midlands power after the huge snowfall at the time.
8 am to midnight double bubble for 7 days. Started work at 9 finished at 5 every day. Hotel (The Fallen Knight?) and grub paid for ;)
It was cold mind you, but the vintage port and brandy night caps helped to soften the blow.

I used to pass through Arundel and Amberley on my way to and from work and always wanted to stop and have a look around. Very pretty towns.
Arundel is quite nice. A castle, a cathedral, a few pubs, a fantastic book shop, boating lake and...erm...that's it. Prefer Chichester.

Bath is nice. So is Lyme Regis.

Edinburgh. ( ok strictly a city, I know) but it was the only major centre that didn't have the shit bombed out of it in WW2, so all the architecture that has gradually been introduced over the centuries remains and blends in. ( except for Waverly Station ---- where were you IRA when we needed you to blow up Waverly Station?)
