Almost 16 years on, and have a look at what has become of the baby that made the cradle celebration famous.

Have a feeling we'll see more of this lad in the future years.

Nice one for posting that! I'd forgotten about that whole thing with Bebeto. What a player he was!! It's like watching history unfold before you, realising that you witnessed the celebration of his birth to seeing the kid play football!
Talk about 'coming full circle'!

Will I be ar*ed if New York Becks also plays footy??

Nah.

Good to see. Although I don't agree that snr was a good player. He was very average imo

Not at all. He partnered the great Romario and anyone, at that time, would look crap next to him!! They worked off each other very very well, with Bebeto being the main provider. Massive respect from Romario towards Bebe as always shown when Bebeto scored or was set up.

Your memory of that wonderful partnership is patchy, it seems.

that match, brazil v holland in dallas in quarter final. i was 15 during that world cup. the bloke over the road worked at american airlines at mcr airport. american airlines were doing some raffle for each game to get 2 tickets and free flights/accomadation. my neighbour won but didn't know anyone who a. was that much into football and b. could get time off work. his own son was too young to go so he thought to ask me. knocked on our house an hour before he had to set off and i was.........................

visiting my nanna because my mam had insisted. god bless my old nan but i used to see her about 5 times a week. this was a one-off that my mam blew for me by making me visit my nan during the 6 weeks holidays. still gutted to this day.

Although Bebeto didn't take alot of plaudits for his role in the Brazillian side, i very much doubt Romario would've scored as as many goals as he did without Bebeto in the team. They had an understanding that crippled teams.

His son looks like he has a good future in the game aswell.
