Don't understand this one, he is out of contract in the summer so could leave on a free....if you want to leave why not do it in the summer when you have more opportunities and fight for your team and win promotion. No patience whatsoever.

Probably end up at Newcastle but he could plunder a few goals for a lower premiership team if given the opportunity.

This. He's probably worried about hitting a rocky patch and being forgotten in the summer. Plus he's got a moral shoebox to stand on by netting Leeds cash for him rather than walking away for free.

Re: Beckford hands in transfer request

leeds should sell him now if hes leaving. sell him then get someone else in so they can be bedded in by next season (as they will be promoted barring a minor miracle)

Interesting take on the whole loyalty debate. 2 weeks ago we had our owners showing no loyalty to a good young British manager, according to the press. This week we had Owen Coyle turning his back on Burnley, to the disgust of their fans. And now this, a player out to get an immediate payback for one high profile goal.

Does anyone in football have any loyalty any more? (Other than us, the fans)

ulimately no. to them a club is just another employer (which to a degree is true). if another employer comes along offering higher wages they are off. although with owen coyle he has spent two years spouting stuff about how he wants to make something special at burnley. now he has fucked off to a club who are barely any better

Scores a goal at the swamp and gets the english "I'm bertie big bollox, the new pele" complex.

I hope Lids let him explain himself in front of their fans.
