We’ll be spending a couple of nights there for bank holiday weekend and our friend will be driving us around. Just wondering what the best attractions within an hour or so are? Is Cambridge worth a visit?

You can drive around Milton Keynes, and try to take in every one of the 124 roundabouts

Worked in both places & Bedford is better than Coventry but that’s not setting the bar very high. There’s Woburn Safari Park & Bletchley Park, with the museum dedicated to the WW2 codebreakers not too far away. Cambridge & the aircraft museum at Duxford are both well worth a visit.

Another shout for Duxford or indeed the Shuttleworth trust for even older aircraft, if you have an interest in aviation of course.

Went to school in Bedford. The Embankment is nice, but as mentioned above you're best going to either Woburn/Bletchley Park.

I like planes. As a kid went to Cosford, Newark, East Midlands etc. and spent a lot of time at Ringway with my binoculars

In which case both of those would hit the spot for a few hours. Very enjoyable places to visit.
