Quality player no doubt. I would just hate to see us sign him though because I don't like the idea that we poach teams' best players when they've "made it". Signing Ben Arfa before he signed NU would have been fine. Maybe we can do our own scouting and find our own gems so we don't have to sign Lescotts, Barrys and Ben Arfas anymore for inflated fees.

I hate the knee-jerk reaction from our fans when they witness a good performance from a player.
i mean I heard about Ben Arfa before he went to the toon and he looked good then, but shit anytime anyone plays good fans are like: hey let's fuck XXXX off and buy XXXX now...
Fans expect loyalty from our players yet don't show it to them.
We could Swap Johnson and a few £mil and in a few seasons time when Ben Arfa is rotting on the bench, the same posters will be on here saying:
Hey that Adam Johnson is looking good, let's swap Ben Arfa and bring back Johnno.

Don't rate him. He produces moments of brilliance on the odd occasion. He has the talent, but he doesn't produce on a consistent basis, and is a very frustrating player to watch at times. He won't cut it at a top side.

Ben Arfa is top drawer, the only thing is i think we might be better off with Hoilett or Farfan on frees or Krasic on loan.

Live and work around Newcastle and their fans. He has been fans fave for a couple of years but AP has resisted using him until the back end of the season. He believed that Ben Arfa made too many mistakes in picking out the final pass and was greedy with the ball. Recent form is outstanding but still elements of issues. Could be another one that flatters to deceive.

Not at all.
Both attack minded midfielders, both have great vision, both capable of playing out on the wing, both fantastic dribblers capable of scoring goals. Granted Ben Arfa is more effective out wide, but I'd say they're pretty similar players.

We definitely need to destabilise the Toon with some juicy transfer speculation before we visit Newcastle in a few weeks time. Having said that, they do have some exceedingly skilful players.
