No. Being out for a long time is not over the minute you get back. I don't know why you struggle with this so much, Guardiola said it would take 20 starts until he looked like the old Mendy and he's about 10 in.

The man has literally told you what's going to happen and you're too blind and impatient to see it, even though we've seen it already with Gundogan and KDB.

Also Zinchenko returned from his surgery 4 weeks ago and returned to training a month before that. If he's still got a niggle then why didn't it affect him against Sheffield, Zagreb, Oxford, Everton or Port Vale?
I think some people made their mind up on him 2 years ago.

He's been the most defensive of our fullbacks, and he's been our best fullback defensively. He's been restricted attacking wise to a few line breaking passes and the occasional run forward (all which he's been more than adequate at). And yet people are still posting about how he's a great attacker and an awful defender.

Best not get caught up debating with those people if I were you.

I'm sorry but he literally gave a short pass to a rag last night, not for the first time,he should have the basics down by now,he is doing it every game,he just might not be the same now,i hope he is although i've never been particulary convinced by him, that pass to mahrez last night did deserve a goal though

Oh No! He gave a pass to an opposition player!?!!!! IN A GAME OF FOOTBALL??

I've got news for you, we passed the ball to them 20 times yesterday. Mendy did it once, KDB did it and cost us a goal, Rodrigo did it, Gundgoan did it, Fernandinho did it. Sterling did it 7 times.

It's football. You play 80 passes like Mendy did last night and some of them don't reach their target. That was the 2nd highest number of passes in the match and no one touched the ball more. But 1 went to the opposition, which lead to nothing, and that's lead to you deciding he had a bad game.

Weirdly I haven't seen your post in the KDB thread about how he should have the basics down, and there's no excuse for the pass which lead to their goal? You must just be typing that one out...

Think he improving game by game. Starting to look fitter and more confident. He seems to be getting a better understanding of whats required of him too. I expect him , fitness permitting,to finish the season as our established left back.

This lad was a bag of nerves in the first half. Was very unsure of himself when passing the ball.

Better second half but then did have less of the ball.

Calm down dear lol,kev is a high risk player,it comes with the territory and he makes up for it a million times

Not just me then..

I don't have an issue with what @Psychedelic Casual said, he was nervous and hesitant to pick passes, but so would most players when 3 players are specifically pressing you to close off the easy passes.

The important thing is they didn't get anything out of it, and we exploited the fact that they committed 3 players to our LB, especially the fact that Walker was given the entire right side of the pitch free.

I thought he played ok. His accuracy of pass has increased loads. He wasn't any more guilty of giving it away than anyone else last night. Looks to me like he's slowly ramping up and getting back to being a very good left back.

I missed the first 20 minutes of the game. I'm assuming all these misplaced passes occurred then because what I saw he was tidy.

Yeah he was very nervous in the first stages of the match and looked like he had regressed. He hasn’t though, as you say he was tidy and is by a margin our best left back with significant potential to be a great deal better. People underestimate what the guy has gone through. Potentially career ending injuries and folk expect him to be at 100% within literally a handful of games. If he stays fit and gets plenty playing time for the rest of the season, then it would be fairer to judge him at the end of it.
