What a pointless and bizarre comment. We'll drop points over the season because we were outplayed, out thought tactically, out of form or even just unlucky. We should not be in a position where we drop points because we're lacking in numbers in a key position and have to resort to playing players woefully out of position and out of their depth there.
Pointless and bizarre comment ???.
Do we have a right to win the league no we don't

Exactly my thoughts. If Walker was 40m, Mendy would have been done at the same price. They sold Bakayoko for 35m and Silva for 43m. Mendy is not more valuable than these two.

That's your opinion.

To me and I suspect a lot more, left back was and has been for at least 2 seasons our weakest position on the pitch. Add to that his age, his ability and his performances last season, plus premier league tax, plus other clubs perceptions of us, plus Monaco not needing to sell him and you start to realise why we have to pay the fees we pay.

Oh and Mendy was better than Bakayoko last season, so I would value him higher.

Literally no idea how you've taken that from what i said. Said nothing even close to that. My point was about 3 fullbacks not being enough and the need for 4. There will be expectations to win the league though and rightly so with our squad, we'll struggle to do that if we're forced to play Fernandinho at fullback for any length of time though.

During my working days the oft used phrase from our shop floor was something like .....we could do with a new flt ,,,,,, or some other capital asset.
The reply without exception was .....give us a business plan that shows how much more money we can make with it and it will be considered....

Possibly our owner is more familiar with how business works financially for him than any critical article in or on the media.

Stupid discussion about fees. We need him - plain and simple. Same with Walker ... would you rather have had Sagna trotting down the right wing in Thu's match?

Also, my bet is the initial fee is below 50m. Again, similar to Walker where we heard "excess of 50" and it turned out to be 45. Sky Sports of course keeps quoting Walker as 50m in the same breath as Lukaku is 75m and Martial was 36m. Ignore and tune out all this cr@p. If we win the league, who'll be laughing next May?

It matters not one not what we do the media pan us and the brain dead morons, most of whom never go to a game lap it up. One example last season Aguero scored a goal where every single player of ours touched the ball, I think there was 23 passes then the goal. They never even mentioned that fact on MOTD. I wish we would sign every top player in all positions and win everything for the next twenty years just to watch them all eat shit!

Nobody likes the New good looking guy in town with loads of money and lots beautiful women aching for a rides in his various sports cars .... Its Envy .... The BBC is dripping with it .

If you are disgusted with transfer fees in general fair enough thats a reasonable view. But how can £52 mill for 22 year old Mendy be disgusting but not £50 mill for 27 year old Walker.
Both are... But more relevantly I think this is particularly excessive coz I don't think Mendy is as good as Kyle. But that's that'sjust my opinion.

I pray I'm wrong, and he turns out the best LB of this generation. With the money we've paid, that's what we've suggested he is.
