Perhaps the injury wasn`t fake and we are waiting to see how the injury pans out before we send him for a medical hence the delay ?

He got injured in the international games last month - there's a chance he's not fully recovered and I wouldn't say it was completely fake. Monaco, however, have definitely used it as a cover for him not being on their tour. He was training with the team only a day before they left.

Kongolo (I think that's how u spell it) is traditionally a CB that feyenoord used occasionally as a LB so it could be that Monaco signed him for that position and are intent on keeping Mendy, at least I'm sure that's what they are telling city in negotiations to get as much as possible from us
