Bereavement leave followng death of a pet

Give an inch and some but not all people take a mile, much like it has always been. The sort of people who find it easy to take a sickie for a hangover are the same sort of people who might abuse any sort of system that allows for compassionate leave in the case of losing a much loved pet. You have a pretty jaundiced view of humanity to make such generalisations or perhaps you've just been unlucky in being acquainted with thde wrong sort of people. They say water finds its own level.
Oooooooo, deep! HAHA!

Clearly, generalizations are being made, but should we have policies and laws for everyone individually, or collectively?

My view of humanity is that, for the most part, humans are animals that coexist on a need more than want basis. Scratch the surface and the animal comes out. We are a Lord of the Flies & Animal Farm species, not the holier than thou people you appear to suggest.
