We nearly threw the league away because he could barely move anymore. Villa got up the pitch so easily in that first half of the last game of the season because they knew Watkins would beat him every time. Phillips is an automatic upgrade.

Given that neither were going to play many games due to Rodri being the undisputed first choice, I would've rather we just kept Fernandinho for one more year than sign an injury prone Phillips to be honest. I think he could've still done a job and his presence in the dressing room was invaluable.
Much as I love him, his legs are gone. Another year would have been too far for him.

As great as Jesus has looked thus far at Arsenal- he was not and possibly couldn't replicate that here. Sterling gave us his all up until the end simply was done here. I think Gomez will be worlds better.

Who is arguing that Bernardo is our best player?I think most of us are at that stage, but he would be a huge loss, we already look weak in terms of our squad and to lose arguably our best player is suicidal this late in the window.
