Bert Trautmann Story....

Thanks for that, watched it last time but forgot to record it. Going to record the repeat.

Just read the book. Brilliant read but more about a youngster growing up in Nazi Germany and then war time and post war time experiences than about football (Bert doesnt join City until about 30 pages from the end).

Its a very balanced story, doesnt make him out to be a saint and he's clearly a very complex person. But he certainly went through some horrendous experiences.

Those Birmingham Shirts in the 56 Cup Final were well shiny shiny! Never noticed that before

Re: The Bert Trautmann story

on a related theme I wondered if anyone knows if Berts story was ever turned into a film?
I remeber watching an interview several years ago with an actor saying his next project was to work on a film about one of his footballing heros which was Bert as he was a city fan. Like I said it was a few years ago and I think the actor in question was warren clarke checked on imdb but nothing mentioned.

The Bert Trautmann story

It would without doubt make a brilliant film, but if it was fiction would anyone believe it?
