Bert Trautmann vid on o/s

lol i just watched it, i thought the same. Makes you laugh a bit if some of our players have a problem with a little bit more training everyday, with all the comforts they get.

He IS a LEGEND! I've never seen him play but going off what my dad says about him he is a true legend! I also have to admit that when I see him coming out of the tunnel and he sheds a tear when the crowd cheer him, it makes me shed a tear as well!

Long live Bert!

Hehe, naah I think he enjoyed it. Although he has said he's sick of hearing about the injury so I suppose this wasn't an exception. Great to see him up close when he was presented at the game, he really was emotional. Absolute legend!

Great Video! what a legend!

Also good to see our very own Scall on there giving the shirt to Gary cook when he was presented with it befor the Brum game! .... what a media whore! ;-)

lol! i can't say fook all i still struggle to get on most rides at Alton Towers myself! ;-)

Saw Bert for the last nine years of his City career, and he epitomises everything about what I think MCFC stood and stands for. Honour, graciousness, fair play, heroism, the true meaning of role model. My life has been enhanced by watching Bert Trautmann all those years ago. Sunday took me back a few decades to Maine Road and a good number of matches where he and us were the only ones staving off one massive defeat after another!

Legend indeed and good video.

Not sure if it was just my 'puter playing up but could hardly hear what was being said due to that shite background music.

I might have to get a screengrab of the moment the four of us are in shot:
A upcoming City hero, a big cheese, a true Manchester City legend who's medical history has earnt him a place in the history of the club.....and alongside him are Shay Given, Gary Cook and Bert Trautmann.

:o)

TFS: If you mean that because I chose to wear a City shirt and shorts in Manchester on a sunny afternoon, and that's "a mess", you'd better not see me after a hangover. Terrible bullying going on here on Bluemoon....I'm not a midget, it was a big frame!

Bert is probably the main reason I became a blue and now 12 of my family are City fans and we have 4 season tickets! My dad took me to OT to see the reds in 1954 and they were playing City. i was behind the goal where Bert was performing heroics in a 1-1 draw. Billy McAdams scored for City. I decided there and then as a boy that they were my team. He was in the first City team I saw and I was there in 56 at Wembley. The word "legend" has been cheapened but in his case it is well earned.

They were all goalkeepers, some of the kids were from the Academy. Past, present and future...

Who were the other keepers in the line? I saw big Joe, Alex Williams and Joe Hart, weren't the others former City goalkeepers?

One of the others was Steve Fleet I think, who was Trautmann's understudy at City for a few years and was later in charge of the youth team in the 70s.
