A bad Chinese?

Get down to the Printworks for that one on level 2... absolutely appalling.

It actually put me off going for a Chinese for a couple of years such was the despicable quality (and I use the phrase loosely) of the food.

Everything was MSG'd to the max, and I have a bit of an intolerance to it, so I suffered badly for a few hours after.

Did anyone see Gordon Ramsay's "Best Chinese Restaurant" prog this week?

The winner was Yu and You, which I drive past almost every day and yet I've never been to!

Booking for next week if I can get in.

One of the few places in town that doesn't just serve up the usual gloop (kfc in jam!) is red hot chilli on Portland Street. They specialise in spicy schezuan food and have a huge menu with all sorts of crazy stuff on there, stir fried heart and lungs anyone? That's a bit extreme for me but they do a lot less frightening dishes that are really well cooked and more authentic compared to your usual chinatown place. Prices are fairly reasonable, not dirt cheap but reasonable.
