Best Christmas film?

Read an interesting piece on it the other day. Although it got some Oscar noms, it didn’t do well at the box office and was pretty much completely ignored. It was only when the copyright ran out and it was on public broadcast channels in the states thirty years later that it started to get the following and recognition it did.
Indeed. Crazy when you think about how pitch perfect the film is.

Saw Wonka twice last Christmas with kids and girlfriend. Everyone seemed to enjoy it

"The Apartment" starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley Maclaine, would be my choice. The key part of the film is set at xmas with the good guy finally landing his dream girl on New Years Eve.

Definitely The Apartment. The office Christmas party is one of the best scenes in cinema history.

This is also (sort of) true of The Wizard of Oz.
