Best deadline day ever ?

Nah not even close to 2008! I loved the surprise, but the surprise was in the announcement, not in the appointment of Pep (which most on here have been confident about for the last year)

I'm glad it's been put to bed but there's no way it compares to that day.

Robinho was mad and everything before that (takeover etc)

Pep announcement I saw coming but obviously not today or at least during the season. Big day in our history though as we became the biggest club in England on our way to become the biggest in the world.

Not even close. You're forgetting we once signed Garcia, Nastasic, Maicon and Sinclair on a single deadline day.

Not even close to the takeover. We all knew this news was coming the only surprise is it being announced today.

Takeover day wins for me, this is second and I don't think anything will come close to these two

Not even close. You're forgetting we once signed Garcia, Nastasic, Maicon and Sinclair on a single deadline day.
I can think of a day worse than that .

John Bond resigning 33 years ago .

We went down to the second division 3 month later .

Unless we sign Messi on the next one?
that would be close but I think these them two are defining moments in the history of the club, 2008 was just crazy, this we've known for a while and it was up to the club when to announce, I think part of it is Manuel having a laugh and giving the press something to talk about on deadline day

Yeah cos I missed the first one, sat in a caravan in Wales with 4 TV channels and no internet.
Woke up the next morning to shit loads of missed calls and texts from my brother.
It went along the lines of..
My brother "we've signed Robinho"
Me "bollocks"
My brother "no we have, really"
Me "bollocks
My brother "that's not all, we are now the richest club in world"
Me "now I know you're talking bollocks"
My brother "buy a paper and ring me back" then he hung up.
Got in the car and turned the radio on, the rest as they say is history.
Only transfer window I've ever missed!
Now if only I could swap the Mido transfer window with that one.

Next to takeover day, this is a seriously defining moment, particularly in terms of the balance of power in Manchester. The Rag meltdown tells you all you need to know about the significance of today's announcement. The Robinhio transfer doesn't come close. He was just one player whereas this is a revolution. This changes everything .... again.

All aboard the glory train.

2008 was mental. I can tell you about every little detail about my day around the time I watched it. Unforgettable.
