There has been so much criticism of the decisions of the manager and a lot of it is correct but I would just like to give credit to MH for his very important decision to stop the transfer of Stephen Ireland at the beginning of the season. Apparently the Thaksin regime was trying to raise some money just before the takeover happened but MH blocked the move. As a result we have, without doubt, one of the most talented midfielders in Premier League who you feel really wants to be at City and loves the club. A big thankyou goes to Mr. Hughes!!!!.

Well said

well said, but ultimately credit goes to Ireland who realized this season was probadly a "make or break " season.he`s worked hard in pre- season bulked up and we are now seeing the benifits.but i agree ,if Hughes hadn`t believed in superman ,he would have probadly be playing for Sunderland now.

There is no doubt that Ireland must have done a load of work over the summer because he is a totally different physical specimen this season.

Seems to be certain players excel under Hughes, Santa Cruz came out and said he got him back to his best, no arguin Ireland is playing out of his skin, just hope he can nurture others now like Johnno, Jo, Richards and Fernandes....think Vass is a lost cause!

Yeah, good call. I havnt been too impressed with MH so far, but he did stand up to the board and insist that Superman stayed with us. Were all reaping the benefits now. Stevie really was fantastic yesterday, as he has been all season so far. If he was for sale now, how much might we reasonably expect to get for him? Ill go for between £12-15m. If he keeps up his current form for a couple of seasons then id put him in the 20m bracket. What do other bluemooners think?

In the current market i would have to say Ireland is priceless at the mo. You can bet ur bottom dollar that all the top clubs in europe would love to have superman in there team.

The boy is pure class!!!!!

Read an interview with either Micah 2 years ago and when asked who the most naturally talented player at the club was. Answer was Steven Ireland!!! I thought he was taking the piss.

He now is outshining players of the calibre of Robinho, SWP and Elano.

MH and Superman well done.

He is certainly worth up towards 15 million as you say...also he is only 22 and has great creativity, can win the ball in midfield and is now scoring goals with 7 so far in the league. Hopefully, he is at the beginning of a great career.
