Having seemingly touched a nerve over Tolmie's over reliance on poor 80s bands I thought I'd start a thread on the best music decade
For me it is the Seventies
From the heavy rock of Deep Purple, Humble Pie, Led Zeppelin.....
To the progressive rock of Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Gong, Caravan...
the rebirth of the Stones, Bob Dylan...
The American rock of Bruce Springsteen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith....
Through to the American new wave of New York Dolls and the Ramones
To the explosion that was punk with the Pistols, the Clash, the Jam, the Damned, Buzzcocks
And the emergence of Joy Division and the Cure
Whilst filling the airwaves and charts with glam rock of TRex, Slade, Sweet, Rod Stewart and Roxy Music.
I hate disco and soul so I've deliberately left them out
Stuff your 80s New Romantics, U2 and the Roses one decent album up your arses.
