Best Opposition Player You've Seen Live v City.

Luka Modric the night we beat Spurs with a Crouch OG to qualify for the CL, was one of the best midfield performances I’ve seen from a losing opponent.
I absolutely love Luka Modric and I hate the fact that he has and currently plays for clubs that I wholeheartedly loathe.

He is absolutely sublime. And I'm as jealous as hell that he never played for us.

George Best
I saw him, he was good but as usual with utd players snidey and allowed to foul with impurtunity. I was right in front of the ' tackle' that broke Glyn Pardoes tib and Fib in December 1970 ( an early teen birthday present to attend the game at Old toilet). He was dirty and there is no way I could get upset about a ' great talent' killing himself with alcohol.

Not necessarily an individual performance, but the Arsenal team that came to Eastlands at the end of the 05-06 season and beat us 3-1. It wasn't the 5-1 swashbuckling dismantling they served up to us at Maine Road in 2002, but it was one of those days when the entire ground knew that the team we were playing were several classes above. They weren't fully on it but we still couldn't drag them down to our level no matter how much we tried.

From memory, their first goal came from Henry just strolling through the middle, almost standing still, as City defenders fell over in front of him. He had the entire pitch to himself that day. I remember us managing to scramble an equaliser from a corner, but by the time Arsenal had their third there were people around me in the North Stand clapping the goal. Henry again just strolling through the middle and making it all look so easy.

In a one off game it was probably Matthew Le Tissier at Maine Road in 1994. It was when Bruce Grobbelaar wore a face mask, to protect his eye socket I think. There was a bloke in front of me in the Umbro stand with a dead chicken, who kept on putting it on his face and shouting at Grobbalaar. Le Tissier was fantastic that day.

Zola and Henry are the ones where I can remember the games and their performances. Saw George Best v. City but he didn't do a lot on those occasions. And a young Mbappe for Monaco was startling in the CL game
Although I have no memory of the match itself I know I saw Duncan Edwards for u****d at Maine Road around 1956 or '57, always been best of them all for me.

Wasn’t that 3-3 draw one of the games Grobbelaaar got accused of throwing? He certainly had a stinker that day.

I’m surprised at this choice. He was absolutely brilliant for the rags, but ‘Live’ against City? Don’t ever remember him doing a great deal against us.
