I've got boxes and boxes full of hundreds of DVDs which I need to get rid of, but I wouldn't know where to start.
Wheres the place to sell these?
Someone mentioned ebay, but surely there's an easier way than listing each one on ebay?
I've never used it before either, so wouldn't know how to go about It.

Do these DVD's contain such titles as Charlie's Anals, or Shaving Ryan's Privates? If so, I have an erm.... mate who could be interested.

Music Magpie take DVD's too mate.

This my first thought, but reading some of the reviews, I'm a bit dubious.

Have you used them mate?

I've used them before and found it a great service. Was moving home and needed to clear some space so sold like 40 odd Dvd's for bout 150 quid. You get more for newer ones than old. You just stick em in a box, print the label and they come pick it up for you.

Dunno if you'd get more money doing it on eBay but that's just a ton of work for little reward.

£150? Jesus Navas!
Didn't think it would be that much.

I've got literally hundreds, old (ish) and some new.
Gonna be moving out within the next fewomths of so hopefully, so need to just get rid.

Yeah. Really easy. You just type the number of the barcode on the DVD in and it tells you the price they pay.

Once you're happy with the price, box them up and print the free delivery page off and stick it to the box.

You can then drop it at one of their collection sites (we used the BP Garage around the corner from us but they have a site finder on the website, just put your postcode in and they tell you where's nearest to you).

We got the cheque from them within 10 days of sending.

You must have has some very recent ones for that kind of dosh!

I was offered 8p for some of mine. Best over I got was about £1.25.

Just dress up as a little old Chinese lady and sell them in the Rusholme Chippy to someone who is minding his own business tucking into a double Kobeeda :)

Sell them privately if you can. CEX, Music Magpie or similar will give you pennies for them in comparison. If you're at a big place of work then see if you can sell them via a bulletin board / forum for £3 each or 4 for £10 etc. DVDs aren't worth all that now streaming is so popular but not everyone uses that.

I know this might sound an odd question, but what do Music Magpie do with them, do they sell them on or something?

They sell them on Amazon and Play.com with the seller name zOverstocks. There have been reports that some titles are 'refurbished' by skimming the CD/DVD surface to get rid of scratches, which would make the protective layer thinner.

Apparently part of their plan is to undercut other sellers so that people go through them.

Also heard they re-package them and flog them to supermarkets

I used Music Magpie to get rid of tons of CD's a while ago. You don't get much for most, so as long as you forget what you paid originally for them you won't be disappointed. There isn't really anywhere that offers a good deal, a bit like when trading old PS/Xbox games. If you've got loads of DVD's, and don't want the hassle of selling/posting individually on fleabay then Music Magpie is probably the easiest solution.

You can also find how much they're worth by entering the barcode numbers via the website with no commitment.
