So many good places, it depends what type if food you like.
Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian, French, Brazilian, Greek, Turkish, Armenian, Lebanese. Which ??

My favourite is the Grill on the Alley on Ridgefield off John Dalton St.

The magnificent 7!

Tapas: El Rincon De Rafa (Footy memorabilia on the walls to boot)
Italian: Piccolinos (Near town hall, my fave restaurant in town)
Indian: Akbars (Near Castlefield)
English: Sams Chop House (Behind Boots on Market St)
Mexican: Panama Hattys
Argentinian(basically if your a steak connoisseur): Gaucho Grill.
American: Hard Rock is a safe bet.

PS:
Quick bite to eat in town at lunchtime: Blackdog Ballroom. NQ. Just for the burgers alone! Oh yes.

Gaucho Grill not far from the Arndale does the most amazing steaks, its pricey though.

Manchester is a culinary wilderness. For a place which is constantly bigging itself up as being 'a major city' not having ONE michelin starred restaurant is frankly embarrassing.

I have eaten at all the citys so called resturants- Rosso, el rincon, san carlos, The Lime Tree, The Market, Michael Caines at Abode, Chaophraya etc etc etc and it's all pretty average. Not bad food by any standards, just plain average and over priced in the main.

the living room is always a great place to eat and drink... one of my favourite restaurants in the world tbh
