Great tribute to Adams. The bit about anticipation is correct. Great CBs read the game so well. Any side with a top CB as skipper has a trump card and I put Vinny in that category.

Ake for starters is a better player. Ashley Cole is the best left back the prem has seen, though.

He’s brilliant at the modern full back role but not a great “pure” defender for me. For example, he isn’t aerially dominant and rarely out-strengths an opponent. His game is heavily reliant on pace and reading.
