I have a 2012 Kuga 2l diesel too and think you're pushing it with 55mpg!

Great car though and perfect for ferrying around a family of 5

Agreed re. that fuel consumption. I've got a 2016 Hyundai Tucson, which has a 1.7 diesel engine. Now I like to think of myself as a steady driver, with a careful right foot. And I live out in the country, so not much urban driving. But I rarely get better than 6lt/100km, which equals 47 mpg.
