The point of stereo is to try to reproduce the image with depth and height as well as create the illusion of the performer in front of you.

As such this recording is amazing.

Considering it was recorded in the 1950s, in one take, no multi tracking, valve amps and mics it is quite incredible.

Magnificent given the age and technology at the time it really is.

Amen to that... The Don Fagan Snowbound Track is also insanely good on a great stereo or headphone set up. I used to sell high end stereo to pay my way through university and used his music to sell the good stuff.
