i'd never join a union, i can look after number one. which really what life is all about.

Waste of space. Last time myself and my work colleagues needed one they were the proverbial chocolate fireguard. It was all self preservation from reps and their north-west hierarchy. They fucked up the ballot big style and weren't prepared to correct their fuck up.

One of the meetings consisted of them telling us that the buffet would be much better next time.

When i withdrew my subs i told them the money i'd save would go towards a large tub of vaseline so that next time my employers fuck me up the arse then it wouldn't be as painful.

I'm not particularly saying this applies to you
but I think there's some on here who look enviously
at the sweat shops that Nike and the suchlike use
over in Asia and get all nostalgic about when
those working conditions were accepted here.

There's one reason they are not and it isn't because
big businesses woke up with a conscience one
morning and thought, let's forget about profits
for a while and see how we can improve
conditions for the people who actually make us
those profits.

The style of management in the UK is and always has been, "them and us".

Tidyman,that was the tip of the iceberg. Their incompetence was breathtaking. Ultimately it cost several hundred people losing their jovs.

In our hour of need we were had over but it was nice to see the people who were representing us were,'alright Jack' No doubt some may do a sterling job as my Mother and Father were both shop stewards of their respective unions many moons ago but i can only recount my experience and imo they were all mouth and no substance.

I have seen management refuse some workers the right to a piss in the past.

Wow what a sad selfish person you are. I was brought up to help other people, as part of community where as neighbours we would help and look out for each other. It`s people like you with your selfish outlook on life that have led to the breakup of these working class communities.
