Looking for a couple of good bars/clubs for good live music?

I've been to Matt and Phredds and looking for anything similar really.

I've not been to band on the wall yet as it's currently closed.

Any genres of music are welcome although I particularly like reggae, lovers rock, jazz, acid jazz, rock, metal. Most things really.

Anywhere with brass bands or instruments too!

Any blues recommended anywhere good?

Night & Day Cafe have smaller bands on occasionally, as does YES.
Band on the wall is open but tends to host 'bigger bands - for example Asian Dub Foundation are playing there on April 8th.
Gorilla, the Ritz and Albert Hall are bigger venues still.

You could try blues kitchen that's recently opened on Quay Street. They have jazz nights and it's brilliantly done up inside.

Soup kitchen and YES are good for smaller bands. They're both small, intimate venues

Band on the Wall is currently closed for refurbishment, but they open again in March.
