Ive never watched BB, and didnt know this was a spin-off from it... Will not knowing anything about BB make it a bit difficult to get whats going on?

They really seem to have hit one out of the park with this one. I loved the first few minutes of the pilot, it was reminiscent of a few season opening episodes of BB. Gilligan seems to be smart enough to know that when you have a brilliant formula that works it's a good idea to stick with it.
