Better Call Saul

Unpopular view here but….there’s no way he’d go from a 7 year sentence in the cushiest prison in US (it has a golf course) to 86 years in the one of the worst, just to get feelings of guilt off his chest. I don’t think Saul would have done that. If you’re feeling really repentant, then do God’s work after you get out. I’m sure it felt good admitting it at the time, but after you’ve been in a cell for 20 years and are never ever getting out, the feeling has probably dissipated and he’s thinking wtf did I do!!!
I know it’s only TV, but the way some people go on about the show and it’s perfection, all I could think about after that last episode was ‘you’ve just consigned the rest of your life to misery and pain’

I dunno, i got the feeling that he’d prefer to be Saul in prison than jimmy out. In prison, as saul, he got kudos, the other prisoners chanting his name on the bus, the guard referring to him as Saul.
He ultimately couldnt be Gene, a nobody. Thats why he slipped back into his old ways and was his down fall.

I thought it was a nice ending. Was expecting a big saul-esque dramatic ending but for me it was just right

Ill honestly miss saul/jimmy/gene

I mean, if you’re looking to pick holes you can probably start at a middle aged straight goer suddenly deciding to start up an international drug ring and seeing off the Mexican cartel in the process.

Though the final few episodes were wank and I say that as a massive fan.
I know that this view is unpopular - but me too.

What transpires in the last episodes is rather mundane. Inexplicably Saul loses his mind and not only risks everything going back to steal identity documents from a mark - but then he lingers on and decides to steal watches.

Very lame and unbelievable.

I was expecting some sort of huge showdown involving the Salamanca gang, guns a-blazing, edge-of-your-seat drama.

Instead, we're shown how Cinnabon Saul is caught red-handed with stolen watches inside a trash dumpster, filmed in glorious black and white detail.

Yep.

Also thought the cameos from Mr White and Jesse were bobbins.
