Some people might know this but I have a Rag father in law, and the last time we talked he blamed me for causing the 'problems of football', (money, greed, Sky, crappy fans, no pride, no loyalty etc etc), he said all this is my fault for buying a season ticket. I argued that there are still some great things about football today. He challenged me to name 1 thing that is better now than in the 'good old days', so I said David Silva.

So put some thought into it and name something, anything that makes football better now

The pitches are better, lovely and green, and there are some really creative lawn mower-ists

1) The football - miles better. And not just from City's point of view. The general standard is miles better.
2) Competition is back. Premier League is really tough. Teams like Utd and Chelsea have fallen.
3) Crowds are good. In the 80s they were really bad

The ones who go on about crappy fans are those who use it as an excuse not to go.

Hmm, he doesn't go!

I think not getting twatted by some clown outside is a big one remember when I was about 12 getting punched by 2 barnsley fans outside maine rd and there were plenty of coins thrown in the old days which has thankfully stopped mainly

Tv coverage. We used to get one match's highlights on MOTD on Saturday night and another on Granada on Sunday afternoon.
Oh, and the FA cup final.
