Between now and January: Us, Rags, Arsenal

We are the best team in the league, the only thing that will stop City winning the title is City! Play as we can and we win it by 10 points minimum!
So would I be right in assuming that you will think the season is a failure if we don't win the league by "10 points minimum" ?

I think some of our fans have lost the plot. Its ridiculous to think we will win every game, no team at this level ever has, and its highly likely no team ever will.

Regards the Villa game, we didn't win, simply because those tasked with scoring goals, couldn't, some of that was down to their poor finishing, and some, the Villa defending, Villa deserved their point, it was a huge improvement for their new managers first game, whilst we were under par after a pretty tough week.

Simply put we have to beat Liverpool home and get at least a draw away at Arsenal, I think we might be a few points behind both teams and we will look back regretting 2 points dropped against Villa and other poor results

You cant isolate one game in a season and claim that costs us a title. On paper, Arsenal at home should beat Spurs so they can easily say that cancels out our drawing at Villa. All teams will drop unexpected points between now and the end of the season. Ultimately, the best team generally wins the league - and if our players stay fit, that should be us.

I know your correct, was just feeling depressed about my job and that negativity perhaps followed through into my post.

I do agree that the best team usually wins the league unless it's the red shit from just outside of Manchester!!

Tempted to book my flight to Arsenal but major money concerns looks like less City games for me

Arsenal have some very winnable games coming up, so I'll be happy as long as we're within touching distance of them after Christmas.

It will only be a failure if we don't win it, if Khaldoon was extremely disappointed with last seasons league campaign he would be furious if we didnt bag the title this time around, especially after the outlay and our main rival out of the race.

I think that would depend on the circumstances and what else happens in other comps.

Say Arsenal went on a great run and got 90 points and we finish 2nd on 88 but win a cup and get to semi final of CL. I think he may be ok with that.

If we fizzled out like last season I think he would be pissed off.

That's a fair point and I guess could be acceptable, but if Arsenal matched us in the other cup comps too then we couldn't use that excuse
Personally I think we will win it, maybe by a few points.

Exactly. The focus is on performance and maximising points/trophy chances. If another team goes on a brilliant run and gets 90-odd points, then fair play to them. However, I find that unlikely to be the case. Plenty of time to go yet.

It's always difficult to judge because teams tend to drop points unexpectedly in this league so what looks like an easy win often isn't. I think by January we will be in a similar position to as we are now, and then we will see what happens to Arsenal. United I am less concerned about.

You would be wrong in thinking that. If we don't win the league its a failure.

I am just of the belief that we are a much better side that anyone else in the league, it doesnt matter if we win it on goal difference or if we win it by 20 points but win it, we must. The reason I stated 10 points is because I think we can win it by such a margin, whether we do or not I couldn't care less as long as we win it.
