BBC blog, hope all works out for the big fella, part of where we are now.

Thanks for posting the link and well done Andy "legend" for us that season.

It's so true, admitting to yourself you need help and then actually asking for it, sharing his story might help others.

Was at the Eccles supporters club meeting on Monday signing his book, seems a good guy and got a laugh out of everyone when he said he hates Rag fans!

He was great at the Eccles meeting, I bought his book and am 3/4 of the way through it. He pulls no punches, takes no prisoners and it is an excellent read.

Just read this on the BBC website.

Depression can hit anyone at any time, from a lottery winner to a tramp.

Terrible illness, always better to talk to someone than bottle it up.

Andy will be OK. Top bloke.

I have personal experience of depression and it can affect anyone at any time and know exactly what Andy Morrison went through but mine was not linked to any addiction. It is not recognised as an illness but more people go to their GP about this, more than any other illness. From my experience with the NHS the support system was non-existent and feel that what Andy is doing will hopefully draw attention to this situation and not just the problems of footballers. What is amazing was how he inspired the whole team with his leadership when his own confidence was so low. That is the true measure of the man and why I will always be grateful for what he did for our club. Andy Morrison is without doubt a modern day legend.

Top bloke and blue legend but it's become very fashionable to suffer from depression recently hasn't it.

Cue pages of abuse from outraged namby pambys !!!!!

Ok, I'll bite. If you remember andy as a player you will know that he was genuine hard man who played an instrumental role in the season where we were all terrified about where we were headed. It was literally our existential struggle. For that he is entitled to the benefit of the doubt.

Then if you read his book, you realise that whilst we were loving his role as a confident enforcer, he was struggling and on the piss, because of the pressure and his own demons.

Nothing 'fashionable' about andy's situation. He bled for the shirt and the same addictive qualities that kept us out of the shit took a toll on him. I think he deserves a bit more from us than a snide comment. I'm not having a crack at you ss but I think you're being a bit harsh
