If we can get above Spurs today, or even draw level on points, I believe we'll go on to consolidate/extend that lead next weekend and not fall behind them again for the rest of the season.

Worst case, obviously, would be to lose ground on them, from which we might not come back.

Let's get the win blues

Re: Big Day Tomorrow

with them playing thier game agiainst arsenal on the wednesday now, hopefully we can get infront and put the pressure on them for change and let them play catch up,

sunderland away won't be easy, i think they'll win though, i just think they have the attacking aggression to do it, which sometimes we lack

we win, they win, we beat brum, 1 point infront in 4th, they play arsenal, they can get beat and they can win, but if they lose tomorrow and we win, and we win against brum, 4 points infront with spurs playing catchup would be really nice.

Re: Big Day Tomorrow

We need to get 6 points from Burnley and Birmingham otherwise we can forget 4th place.

Re: Big Day Tomorrow

I am the most pessimistic of Blues normally but I've been saying to all who'll listen over the last month that we will have fourth tied up going into the Spurs game.

I just have a feeling we'll go above them soon and then pull away when they have their difficult run.

Got to win tomorrow though!

Re: Big Day Tomorrow

I can't wait for tomorrow - I've started boozing already.

Everything points to a City win BUT we have not got the best record against teams at the bottom of the league PLUS we are the only - yes ONLY - team that Burnley have taken a point from away from home so they might fancy their chances a bit.

It's simple really - we need to get an early goal and stamp our authority on them good and proper. If we let them get a sniff of a goal they'll be in there.

Re: Big Day Tomorrow

I'm a bit more confident about Sunderland after reading this:

Doubtful: Palacios (groin)

Injured: Corluka & Huddlestone (ankle), Cudicini (broken wrists), Dawson (hamstring), Jenas, Lennon & Woodgate (all groin), King (thigh), Rose (knee)

Who's going to play in defence for Spuds?

bleedin' hell fire!

I know that little bastard Defoe is back, apart from that they look short on numbers.

comon Sunderland.

Hope Bent scores a hat full and is twittering away happy.

Forgot about the Bent/Spuds thing. Hopefully the old player coming back to haunt his old club thing will happen tomorrow :o)

Bassong and Kaboul in the middle with Walker (a kid making his second start) and Assou-Ekotto at full back.

That isn't the main problem. The main problem is that we have no real defensive midfielders available. We can score goals against them, but we might be too lightweight to get enough of the ball to keep them out.

Both wrists? How did he manage that?!

I can see you beating us to fourth as we're running out of games, and I think you'll beat Arsenal in that trio of hard games.

Welcome to the board!
