Big Night In on BBC

That is exactly what I was trying to say last night. But was taken the wrong way. The NHS is not a charity and should not have to rely on the good hearts of the public to fund it and these charity nights wheeled out twice a year are funded by the several million good people who dig deep every time. The distribution of wealth in this country is obscene and you've only got to look at the homeless situation, fuck all was done about them until they were a risk to the public in spreading the virus. They were soon found accommodation then, but why not before?

it was for Children In Need, the money went to hundreds of different causes.

I think you may be missing the point that people are trying to make. These so called Celebs milk it for all they can get. I bet, even if they gave their time for free every single one of them claimed every expense available. None of them would have stood there own whether it accommodation travel, chauffeur driven car etc. The vast majority of them are tax dodgers and if they paid their fair amount of tax there would be no need for pushing the begging bowl under the viewers noses.
You are correct. bluethruunthru not getting the [point at all

I have no idea whether he got paid or not - do you?
Govt advice is work from home if possible - was it possible to present that prog from home? If you think yes please tell me you experience and qualification in TV production that supports your view.
It was you who said he was going to work. I simply assumed you knew he was getting paid in that case. He has managed to present the 1 show from home. Nothing against him personally.

But the tax dodging is a different argument - as I say if you hit rock bottom and do have to go to a food bank please check how its funded before you go - I wouldn't want you to go against all your principles

what is the point ... celebrity's should not have a platform to raise funds for charity correct ?
so they should be banned from doing so ?

if not, then no one is forcing us to pay charity's because celebs are fundraising and no one is forcing us to watch it either

The point is that a good % of the nation is struggling for money and they come on begging for money. Wrong time to do it. Then their presenters tell you to only make essential journeys and they have people travelling over 200 miles to present 1 hour.

I donate to many charities and indeed to major Tom's, but I don't need Davina Mccall sat there with a pained fake sad expression on her face like she's got a marrow stuck up her ass to make me support causes I can have a care towards
I find her fake smile far worse

You're carpet blanking people that give money for charity helped raised by celebritys as that's all they do.
Many millions of people raise money every day for different type of charitys, we see that at Marathons.
it doesn't need to be one or the other.
Let's face it, you're just jealous and bitter about famous people.

Let me kill your last statement good and dead. I am not jealous or bitter about anybody and certainly not celebrities. I think that most of them are pathetic needy individuals who crave the attention. If you want to give it to them, fine, but leave me out of your moans about them.
Posters are moaning about the moaners !!!. How many have walked into Sainsburys and as they are buying their own shopping bought £10-£20 of extra essential food and then put it in the large basket by the tills for the people that need it ?
Why does giving money to the BBC to distribute make people feel that they have 'done something' and anyone that moans hasn't ?
The vast majority of the charities that distribute the money raised will have a CEO on 100k plus, he in turn has a P.A. and a car and expenses and..... Stuff that for a lark, people should give what they can afford, time rather than money if they are skint, to local charities, food banks etc. but of course that would stop you moralising to people who do not choose to be sucked in by Gary Barlow and all his other tax avoidance mates. If they had paid their share half the charities wouldn't be needed.

no, it was the perfect time to help raise 27 Million pound for really vulnerable people and charity's at the moment

the % of the nation struggling were not forced to donate.
