Biggest regret and why.

I did 22 years in the RAF and left just as I qualified for my pension to give the family some stability. I was due promotion to Chief Technician.. I had a good career in civvy street and retired at 56 but having seen people I used to work with carry on to the age of 55 and reach Warrant Officer (the highest rank we could achieve without taking a commission) I regret not staying in.

It’s done now though and I can’t really complain about my life though I’d do anything to see SWMBO free of her Lymphoma and that makes me realise that I should have no regrets …

Selling all my vinyl for next to nothing when c.d’s appeared , including a double leather covered Motörhead album that I’ve never seen anywhere else since
I did the same with all my albums ,sold them all for a quid each to help keep me abroad longer, what a fool i was.

The raf accepted me as a trainee nav.
I turned it down lol.
Luckily I turned out to be a shit hot engineer anyway, more luck than judgement though I must admit.
Best wishes to you + the wife, hope she gets free of her condition soon.

I left just short of 13 years mate and it changed a hell of a lot since then (2000), only a couple of my mates every made it to the end one is just now finishing after 42 years! I left at the right time hardly any overseas postings Some of my mates said the changes weren’t for the best as like most things in society the calibre of recruits was watered down to fill spots. Looking back I loved my time in the social side, the football the overseas tours but I don’t regret leaving when I did, I like to think I made the most of it.

I think it's unhealthy to dwell on the past and have regrets, although sometimes I cringe thinking about some things I did in my early life
However, I try to enjoy the present and embrace the future.
