More about Jimmy Currier - he played in Div One for Bolton Wanderers in the later thirties, scoring 14 goals in 26 games. A team-mate at the time was Fred Swift, Bolton goalkeeper, who was Frank Swift's brother.

Seems Billy's City career got off to a great start.the inside forward bagged 3 goals in only his second match v Bradford in the FA cup..strangely enough, they were to be the only fa cup goals he would ever score for City in 8 seasons ..
He must have been very unlucky not to have made the Irish 58 world cup squad, having collected 19 goals in 28 games for City in the top division that season..but like othes have remarked,he didn't seem to be first choice for City, for whatever reason, and injuries didn't help.
