Birmingham - 3rd Round FA Cup Post Match thread

He’s gone so far backwards it’s embarrassing. There was a point near the end of the game when he had tonnes of room to get a cross in and delivered nothing. Had so much time and space throughout the game and failed to offer anything going forward. We desperately need a left back.’
His injuries have really impeded his progress, which is a real shame for Ben and also for City.

A comfortable, routine victory. Scored three great goals to kill off the tie, and then got to rest key players. Not surprising that we took our foot off the gas in the second half with bigger battles ahead. Looking forward to the draw tonight.
Stockport away so we can all ignore the pandemic and the law, turn up en masse without masks to wave at a bus and then stand there with cardboard cut-outs of Pep...

That's certainly true and I don't disagree with a word of it BUT by the same token I am entitled to express my opinion that the negative, and in quite a number of cases hostile, views expressed make reading the thread a depressing activity. I could go further and say that some of the views expressed are so personal as to be venomously hostile to both the manager and to individual players. Those of us who have supported City for a long time before the present golden age have all endured periods during which we have lacked confidence in the manager, many players and many club officials but the level of abuse directed at players seems to have moved up "to the next level", to the extent that I don't think much of it comes from those moved by a willingness to SUPPORT the club. There are limits. I enjoy genuine discussion but not the incessant insults and abuse of our own personnel from the likes of "Angry forever"!

spot on matey

you have to take the rough with the smooth on here and like it or not its just views of others. like you said who are we to judge them. they believe in what they write and yes a new breed of fans are glory hunters at manchester city and
its only going to get worst

players and the club getting slag off is nothing new and when it goes over the top it can get ugly very quickly on here
stick and stones can be hurtful and when you defend a player or the club and then they turn on you ? that's out of order and the moderators should get involved or you report them

Enjoyed the first have, second half had a feel of a pre season friendly to it, but more importantly we’d won, Birmingham were being very aggressive in the tackle so sensible to take off KDB Dias and Cancelo.

As for players, Steffan, probably lost concentration he had so little to do for most of the game, based on all games played looks a decent no. 2 though

Cancelo, different gravy now, looks unplayable atm
KDB - same just going to be the best ever for a lot of Blues
Foden - outstanding as well, shame he wasn’t given a rest after 70 mins
Mendy - it’s tragic watching him, just not going to be the player we’d signed, can see a long term loan and a release at the end of his contract once we have alternatives
Mahrez - possibly the most technically gifted player we have but frustrating to watch, genius touch for the assist and really affects the game but can be prone to going missing or over dribbling sometimes
Jesus - not sharp enough but that’s understandable, still worried about no replacement for Aguero
Walker - solid as always
Dias - Same, nice to see a leader on the pitch
Rodri - did well, recycled the ball did his job
Bernardo - finally getting back to some kind of form after an eternity of being crap, hope it continues but he just looks pissed off atm

Though Nmecha looked lost when he first came on but he started to grow into it, needs a loan ASAP
THB - looked solid when he came on
Delap - Hes certainly a unit, shame he didn’t get the goal but he looks like he’s going to be in around the squad for a while
Stones and Ferna both did their jobs steadying they ship when they came on

For the sake of any further confusion.....yes,given the state of my ears and the match thread comments,it was very much sarcasm.

wow.....
I didn't have the female commentator but would have probably turned sound down if i had. This is not based on sex or tradition but sound.
Unlike other voices, i find it impossible to 'tune out' Mcfuckinminimum's whiney high pitched ramblings due to the high tone. It goes even higher when he gets excited or exasperated.
Most female voices are at a similar or higher pitch and 90 minutes of that would leave me dizzy for days.

Well worth repeating that.

Normally i'm pretty chilled on here but when i see post after post by the same person slagging us off i get a bit defensive and give them shit. THey're not City supporters.

Presumably 2 shit lower league clubs need to play each other in round 4, so if united get past the shit team they are drawn against in round 4 they are guaranteed to be drawn a shit team in round 5
