Systemic isn't an individual case (as in this instance), it's a statistic across the whole of society.
Last time I looked at the criminal justice system stats, pretty much all races have worse outcomes than others in certain aspects of the CJS apart from Chinese.
Ironically - in the wake of BLM, white people are more likely to die in police custody as a proportion of those arrested. Likewise, they're more likely to be convicted by a jury. Black people are more likely to be arrested and subject to stop and search. Asian (non-Chinese) people are more likely to face the strongest sentences.
I think that's a sign of a free society that's got a good grip on racism, not the sign of a justice system that is racist against everyone but the Chinese.
