I don't blame people for unconscious bias. I can't control what other people subconsciously think, I'm just re-assured there's been a huge swing towards recognising it and I don't think it'll be a problem for the future. I don't think it's something you can teach, it will just be fixed by society over time.
There's a huge wave of 2nd generation black/BAME people coming through with successful careers and pretty soon it will be the norm to be represented at a high level and so the perception swings itself.
We are making great strides towards equality and I'm grateful for that it just takes time.
I can't say if it's ever happened to me but I just brush it off, who knows if I didn't get a job or promotion because of it? Life is too short to get hung up on it.
