Been to the Furnhurst a few times, but never been in. Always had cans in the car park. Is this not happening tomorrow?

Apparently not mate as it isn't open to away fans anymore
that isn't trueMCFCTrick said:davymcfc said:Fernhurst was always the pub of choice. Shame they had to change it. Must have made a killing every weekend from away fans.
It hasn't changed at all.....the Police have stopped it from opening before our game.
And not for all games, just 'high risk' ones. In a way, it's City fans own fault, they kicked off in there last time we played Blackburn....so plod says No.

the Fernhurst was sold by the brewery 18 months ago and was turned into a 'family-friendly' Hungry Horse pub

rather than me have toi explain it to you, don't you think it would be more appropriate to contact the journo from the Lancashire Telegraph and tell him he's printing lies?MCFCTrick said:squirtyflower said:that isn't trueMCFCTrick said:It hasn't changed at all.....the Police have stopped it from opening before our game.

Well explain to me how Millwall and Leeds fans were in there this season? And many others...The brewery was Thwaites...new brewery is Greene King. It still is...it was just made a HH....still a proper pub in half of it...was in just two weeks ago...And it was my missus who plod said 'no' to for our game...
The trouble was not the last time.we were there but a couple of games back. It flared up on the car park about 30 mins before kick off.MCFCTrick said:The Fat el Hombre said:BuckersMCFC said:Been to the Furnhurst a few times, but never been in. Simply untrue. Even Millwall fans were in there recently. And Leeds. But because of trouble from City last time, Police have said it is closed to us.... for this game at least.

Nearest Station to Ewood park is Mill Hill 10 minute walk to the ground and a few scoops in the navigation by the canal.

-- Fri Jan 03, 2014 8:32 pm --

M18CTID said:SPIDERBOY said:Tellison87MCFC said:Is Darwen station closer to the ground than Blackburn station? I've always drove on previous trips but hitting the train for this one.
I've never used Blackburn station,only darwen,so I couldn't tell you....it's a good 1/2 hour walk,but quite a few pubs on the way.....gold cup is one of them(as mentioned).
Darwen station is further from Ewood Park than Blackburn station. For years though, we always got off in Darwen and went on the piss there as there's loads of pubs en route. However, we changed tactics when we beat them 4-0 last time out and went on the beer in Blackburn instead which is what we'll be doing tomorrow. The trouble with this game though is that there are so few pubs open early doors in Blackburn or Darwen so it looks like cans on the train and when we get to Blackburn in advance of the Wetherspoons serving at 10am.

No need to...I know away fans are still welcome, despite what is in a newspaper (and we all know they are always 100% accurate, always) been there and seen them. The old marquees and drinking outside is no longer encouraged, but still happening.
In fact the current manager (not the ones mentioned in the article...they now moved to another HH near Blackpool...) was praising the friendliness of the Millwall fans...don't believe everything you read in a paper.....
It really is just City fans the local liason officer has a problem with...
