Blatter claims UEFA draws were rigged

My take is
Is it possible that draws have been rigged? Yes but that doesn't mean they have.

Is Blatter a credible witness? No , he's a serial fantasist and liar , this does not make everything he says untrue but I don't think it adds any real credibility to it.
 
The dodgy part of the draw is the TV requirement one. This is not stated specifically but seems to be pulled out of the hat at the last minute.

The reason City got Borussia Dortmund a few years back and City had Cluj was that German TV did not want both Bayern Munich and Borusssia Dortmund both plying on the same day. Hence a particular draw was precluded.

Until they can clarify that rule and how it works, I will not believe that the draw is not fixed.

City have picked up two German teams (Munich and Monchengldbach), two Italian teams (Napoli and Roma) and one Czech team (Viktoria Plzen) from pot 4 over the last five years. Pot 2/3 had produced a couple of Spanish teams (Villareal and Sevilla) and CSKA Moscow twice plus Ajax. Then we come to pot 1 with Bayern Munich three times, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Ok the rules were against City when their were three English teams in pot 1 and that no longer applies. But those draws are horrendous by any criterion. The R-16 draws have also been bad with Barcelona twice. City would probably have got them this year had they not taken the precaution of winning their group.

I cannot see the group draws as being rigged. There are so many rules about TV and same nations not meeting each other and the big clubs of interest are in pot 1 (or since last year one or two). If there are any rigged draws they happen in the later stages.
