But has anyone suffered a blocked ear Wax build up etc?

Feel like I'm pissed Balance wise.
Had anti biotics from GP, but not helped
Was wondering can the local GP use some suction thing to take it out?

Feels like I'm listening to people through a helmet !
 
I’ve suffered from this for years, had loads of tests in hospital, got diagnosed for a while with BPPV and then Menieres Disease. Still not found an answer or a cure though.

First step is to get rid of the ear wax build up though as it might just be that. Think GP surgeries have stopped doing it but you can get it done privately, it doesn’t cost much. Heat up some olive oil, pour it into your ear and let it soften up the wax. Do that for a week. A lot might go naturally but if it’s still blocked, then when they do the ear syringe, it’ll come straight out.

If you don’t do it, then it can hurt and cause a bit of damage.

Happens to me when I fly a few times in a short period of time.
The doctor / nurse put some kind of plastic tray with sides under the ear (to catch the water) and squirted warm water into the ear and then as the wax softens / pushed out by the force, with some kind of tweezers, pulls the wax out.
Be careful, everything around you will suddenly appear to be very loud!

I get painfully blocked ears on certain aircraft, especially Airbus A319 and Embraer E-175 jets. I think it's something to do with the rate of pressurisation. My inner ears retain the lower pressure as the aircraft descends causing pain.

I can often clear it by glugging water, but sometimes they don't clear until well after landing, and when they do I get a loud squeaking/cracking noise as they clear.

My worst ever blocked ear was when I got accidently headbutted by my dog which busy a blood vessle in my ear and it ended up causing a huge build up of wax over a couple of weeks. My missus had to eek out the massive chunk of rubber like wax with a pair of tweezers.
 
Try ear irrigation or earwax micro suction, your specialist otolaryngologist will advise which is best.
Had mine done a while back and cost me £65, if ear wax is your problem that will sort it out.
If not they should be able to diagnose and advise accordingly.

Put a couple of drops of this stuff down, then get some warm water on your finger and rub gentle inside the ear. This always works for me, it just softens and loosens the hardened wax.
 
Go back to your GP and see a doctor not a nurse / clinical assistant . Don't say you think it's wax when you ask for an appointment , as you'll get channelled down the nurse / clinical assistant route . The vertigo and hearing loss are important symptom and need proper assessment . If there was wax in that ear they would have seen it so as your symptoms haven't settled , it needs looking at again .

I say "see a doctor " as it's more likely you'll get a thoughtful and thorough assessment.

I had a build up of wax earlier this year. Thought I'd have a look myself so bought a little camera off Amazon for a few quid that shows it on your smartphone. It looked grim. I went to an ear place on the local high street and got it removed.

I had the glugging water, plane issues and cracking issues. Water is a pain the arse but the pressure and cracking can hurt like fuck.

I've found playing music through ear buds at a reasonably loud level stops any pressure problems...and ear plugs if going under water.
 
Olive oil in the ear for 5-7 days (you can get stuff from the chemist with a dropper). Whilst this is going on, book an appointment with a chemist that does the syringing/irrigation.
 
I get dry ears and keeping them clean with soap etc makes the problem worse so I use Vaseline (ensuring I don’t put it near the ear canal) and this does seem to help. I can only assume small bits of flaky skin were getting into the ear canal and triggering earwax production and that dealing with the dry skin in the first place reduces it.

This might be helpful for others …
 
Bloody hell I’ve got the exact same problem, been using ear drops for 4 days seems to be worse, themes specsavers do the ear wax thing I’m going to book in as I’m almost deaf in one ear at the momnet, on the plus side the wife sits on that side and I can’t hear her moaning.
