“We Didn’t Start The Fire” - Billy Joel
‘Let Him Dangle’ Elvis Costello
One of the many reasons we don’t have Capital punishment in this country.
This song was inspired by the poem Bidrohi, translated from Bengali as "The Rebel", and written by Kazi Nazrul during the 1920s.
Kazi Nazrul was a Bengali poet, patriot and composer during the end of the colonial era in India who supported Indian unity. Nazrul wrote Bidrohi as a call to arms for those who were oppressed in India by the British and a call for unity between Muslims and Hindus. The poem politically and metaphorically called for Indians to oppose British colonialism, by physically taking the government back and by mentally removing the imitation of British ideals and ideas from the country and returning to more traditional ways.
Asian Dub Foundation roughly translated the original text of Bidrohi on their track "Rebel Warrior" and used the song to support a modern take on Nazrul's original stance.

A figure who should be confined to history or forgotten about all together. In theory for ADF/Stewart Lee you could also have Coming Over Here as it's 'inspired' by Paul Nuttall; mercifully though he's hardly an historic figure.
Yes it’s was, he was played by Timothy Spall IRCIndeed. As well as 'Let Him Have It', there was also a decent film a few years back about the life of Albert Pierrepoint our most 'prolific' hangman who executed Bentley amongst many others, think it was just called Pierrepoint.
Been waiting all week for this one... figured this was a day 1 for sure. Nice...“We Didn’t Start The Fire” - Billy Joel
